LIFE | The Rescue Plan

Why did Jesus have to die?
For many people, the cross feels confusing, unnecessary, or even troubling. If God is loving, why couldn’t He just forgive and move on?Why all the talk of sacrifice, judgement, and blood?

In this third talk in the LIFE series, we move to the very centre of Christianity – the cross of Jesus.
Building on last week’s question, “What’s wrong with the world?”, we now ask:
If the problem runs deeper than behaviour…If it’s a broken relationship with God…Then how can it possibly be fixed?

In this talk, we explore:
– why forgiveness is never cheap
– how God can be both just and merciful
– what the Passover has to do with Jesus
– what really happened at the cross
– and why the rescue plan doesn’t depend on human performance

At the cross, Christianity makes a bold claim:
God did not stand at a distance from human failure and suffering.
In Jesus, He stepped in.
This message isn’t about moral improvement. It’s about rescue.

At the end of this service, we opened the floor for a short Q&A time. For privacy and care for those who asked questions, that portion has not been included in this recording.

Whether you’re exploring Christianity for the first time, carrying big questions about faith, or wanting clarity on what Christians actually believe about the cross, this talk invites you to listen, reflect, and consider what it might mean to trust the rescue plan.

You’re very welcome to watch and think along with us.
